Hello, I’m Scott.
In 2008, I decided that photographing headshots wasn’t challenging enough. So I started down the path of learning how the wedding photography process worked. I signed up for a wedding workshop at Julia Dean Photo Workshops, taught by Yvette Roman on Venice Beach.
Fast forward to today, and in 2008, I decided to step up my photography skills and explore wedding photography. I enrolled in a wedding photography workshop at Julia Dean Photo Workshops, taught by Yvette Roman on Venice Beach. Yvette is a highly imaginative and professional wedding photographer who taught us how to create a smooth wedding day for the bride and groom. Even though none of us had any real experience photographing weddings, Yvette treated us as future professional wedding photographers.
From the workshop, I learned how to organize a great timeline, what brides are looking for, and what questions to ask brides that they might not have considered. I applied these principles to my first real wedding, which I booked in 2010, based on my former headshot portfolio and what I learned from the Yvette Roman workshop. I created a great timeline that catered to the bride and groom's needs and knew what they wanted creatively from me.
On the wedding day, a hospital visit ran over time, causing the bride and I to make changes to the timeline. Despite having less than 20 minutes to photograph over 40 people in the bridal party, I calmly went through the list, placed, posed, and got everyone in an organic state. Late in the event, when I was receiving praise, I realized that I could never have performed so creatively that day without the knowledge I learned from Yvette’s workshop.
Today, 15 years later, I still use the principles I learned in Yvette's workshop as the first steps in planning the wedding day.

Q: Do you travel for weddings?
A: Yes, I will go to the smallest towns and big cities.
Q: Do you deliver every image you shoot?
A: No, we do not. We eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions, and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery.
Q: How soon do we receive our photographs?
A: First previews are sent out after one week. Final edits are sent out in two weeks.
Q: How many photographs do I get?
A: Depending on the size and location of your wedding event. Including final edits, 200-500.
Q: Do you help the bride and groom with planning the timeline and photography wants/needs?
A: Yes, I highly encourage this collaboration. I'm available to help as much as needed.
